Love, Pamela

TWs: Assault, Animal Abuse, Domestic Violence

One of the world’s biggest bombshells shares her story and rattles our assumptions about beautiful women in Love, Pamela.
Anderson is witty, resilient, socially conscious, and full of curiosity. Her conventional hottness and ambition took her from humble beginnings in Canada to raising £250,000 for PETA. And, what’s a fairytale without a love affair or two? Being married 5 times, Anderson shares plenty of juicy stories about her past lovers (and a few Hollywood creeps).
Vulnerability and introspect are huge players in this memoir. She talks about the good and the bad in her relationships, and (like a true muse) talks about finding a safe place in books when she turned inward and wanted to learn more about herself. Pamela uses the story of her life to disprove assumptions that bad b*tches can’t be intelligent.
I’d like to I pride myself on being free of those assumptions, but I knew that was wrong when I was surprised by Anderson’s good writing, thoughtful assessments, and unexpected book recs.

Speaking of book recs…

This book has a large list of recommendations (a queen!). Titles like Memories, Dreams, Reflections by C.G Jung, Out on a Limb by Shirley MacLaine, and Individual in Fairy Tales by Marie-Louise von Franz were little gifts offered in the book that I’ve since added to my reading list.

If you’re looking for a real-life Cinderella story, you’ll enjoy Love, Pamela.
